Title : GHS NJROTC Wins Second Consecutive “National Champion” Honor in Academics!

A HUGE “Congratulations” goes out to our GHS NJROTC Academic Team members who participated in and won the Secretary of the Navy sponsored “National Academic Exam.”  We were notified by the Area Manager about the great news late Friday afternoon!   Our cadets placed 1st out of 1615 teams across the United States, Europe, Guam and Japan.  This is the second consecutive “National Academic Team Championship” win in as many years for our Team Number ONE! Gulf High School NJROTC is the ONLY Unit in Florida that has ever won the National prize; now we have two!  Team TWO placed 10th and Team THREE 98th. This is VERY significant as our goal was to place three teams in the coveted “TOP 100.”  And that’s precisely what happened.  Cody Boyet scored the nations high with a 95, followed by Matthew Harmaz with a 92, and Aaron Heusted who scored 91. Again, congratulations to all who participated and particularly members of the top three Gulf teams that placed in the TOP 100!  Your success has been most commendable and you have represented your Unit, school, community and the Navy very wll.
